Well it turns out that my www.uhntiss.com domain name is attracting some visitors.. not hugely, but about 100 uniques a month and it’s just a silly coming soon graphic. I probably should consider turning that domain into something useful soon, not quite sure what though - anyone have some suggestions?

It has been brought to my attention that Kelowna is often honoured by its inhabitants and companies as being one of the most beautiful places in the country (and perhaps the world in some cases); however, when looked at from outsiders or even with an objective eye that story changes dramatically.

The main focus of Kelowna is the lake, and the very front of the city that skims along its edge. All the attention is poured into these areas, so when a photo is taken from the lake eastward toward the city it looks absolutely brilliant. All the aerial shots are taken at a steep downward angle towards the Grand Hotel and resort area - which has by far the most green, and most decoration.

As soon as you start to back out and capture the city as a whole, the beauty becomes a lot more spotty - there’s many nice areas such as Kettle Valley,Knox Mountain, and Dilworth. however they are few and far between, and everything in between looks like a band-aid put there to hold the attractions together.

Well this is a first for me, someone sent me an email curious about what I was planning with my www.facelessbook.com domain name. Originally I had made it just so I could vent my frustration with Facebook when they banned my account for having ‘webmaster’ in my email address without a chance to defend myself. All this time the domain has been sitting idle without much of a purpose.

The fellow that came along and and inquired about it is Davezak (www.davezak.com) who wants to turn it into a site dedicated to giving a voice to people around the world who don’t have one (think starving families in third world countries who have stories to tell).

I’m not really the type to be greedy about my domain names, and so I was offered $100 which I accepted. So now the domain can go to someone who will use it for good intentions. Plus it provided me with the opportunity to meet a talented artist who does motion graphics, which I quite enjoy!

With Blu-Ray pretty much winning the format war things are getting pretty awesome in the HDDVD department. Future Shop is selling out the last of their HDDVD Addons for the XBOX360 for $49, down from the usual $199 - pretty much a steal if you’re a collector like myself.

The movies themselves are dropping dramatically from what was $35 for a movie down to $12.99 (Canadian Prices), so I picked myself up copies of V for Vendetta, Pitch Black Directors Cut, and the Ultimate Matrix box set. The drive even came with King Kong too!

Now in like 15 years I can look back and laugh at my cheap collection of HDDVD stuff that will easily have gone the way of Betamax! And hey, the quality is still amazing and the movie selection is excellent (better than Blu-Ray at this point in my opinion, at least until the late switcher studios move their content over).

Well, it’s been a few months.. life has been weird - but the site is back online!

The server I had been running it from was abruptly taken offline, and I didn’t get a chance to back up my database first.. so I just started over, there wasn’t much content here before anyways. But it gives me a good excuse to make some nice changes to the site!
